Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using ScanDash ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Description of Service

ScanDash is a privacy-first document scanning application. All processing happens on your device—your documents are never uploaded to our servers. The App allows you to:

  • Scan physical documents using your device's camera
  • Organize documents with folders and tags
  • Use AI-powered automatic document naming (on-device)
  • Search documents by their content using local OCR
  • Edit PDFs with annotations, signatures, and highlights
  • Export and share documents
  • Sync documents with your iCloud (optional)

Subscription Plans

Free Plan: Includes unlimited document scanning, AI-powered naming, OCR search, 5 folders, and iCloud sync.

Pro Plan ($4.99/month): Everything in Free, plus unlimited folders, PDF annotations and signatures, batch export, custom categories, Google Drive and Dropbox sync, and priority support.

Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Your Content

You retain all rights to the documents and content you create or scan using the App. We do not claim any ownership over your content.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to scan, store, and share any documents you process through the App.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights
  • Process documents you don't have rights to
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or modify the App
  • Interfere with the App's operation or security
  • Use automated systems to access the App

AI Features

The App uses on-device AI (Apple's machine learning frameworks) to generate document names. All AI processing happens locally on your iPhone—no document data is sent to external servers. AI-generated suggestions are provided for convenience and may not always be accurate. You are responsible for reviewing and approving any AI-generated content.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR COMPLETELY SECURE. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM.

Data Loss

While we strive to provide reliable software, we are not responsible for data loss. We strongly recommend regularly backing up your documents using cloud sync or manual exports.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will notify you of significant changes through the App.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App for violations of these terms. You may stop using the App at any time.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
